Faces of Courage: The Facemakers of WWI & the Guinea Pig Club of WWII - Nov 16
Join Kevin Hicks BEM of The History Squad for a deeply moving presentation about the heroes behind the masks — the pioneering surgeons and patients who redefined courage and compassion.
From the groundbreaking facial reconstructive work of Harold Gillies and the many other “facemakers” and mask makers to the remarkable brotherhood of The Guinea Pig Club in WWII, Kevin’s talk explores how medical innovation and human resilience transformed lives shattered by war. Presented in partnership with the Nutana Legion and the Saskatoon Museum of Military Artifacts, this special fundraising event honours those who rebuilt not just faces, but hope itself.
