A few fun facts about your local legion you may not know
RESPECTING THE MONARCH
It is customary to remove your head dress (hat) when entering a room with the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
Of course a few exceptions apply for religious and ceremonial head dresses.
THE BELL
You may have noticed a bell near the bar at your local legion.
The custom is that if you ring the bell, you are announcing that YOU are purchasing a beverage for everyone present!
While ringing the bell is rare, it may happen if someone is getting married, has a new child, or many other exciting reasons.
FOR THE MEMBERS, BY THE MEMBERS
A lot of functions at the legion are served by volunteers, such as burger night or game nights.
It is a nice gesture to help out periodically so we all get the chance to enjoy these events!
