Battle of the Bands – Performer Information

Welcome to the Battle of the Bands Fundraiser! Below is everything your band needs to know about performing at this exciting community event.

Event Details

Date: Friday, September 13

Location: Nutana Legion – Vimy Lounge

Time: 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM (doors open at 6:30 PM)

Admission: $5 for non-performers (includes 1 vote)

Theme:

  • Perform 2 covers from 1990–2001

  • Plus 1 band choice: either another cover (any era) or an original song

  • Space is limited to 8 bands.

  • Audience Votes Decide the Winner!

How to Enter

Entry Fee: $10 per band
Includes use of the venue’s PA system, drum kit, and entry for band members.

Deadline to Register:  October 8, 2025

Who Can Enter?

Bands of all genres are welcome!

Priority registration will be given to bands with an average age of 35 or under (total ages divided by number of members).

Bands may “sit in” experienced players as needed.

Members can play in up to 2 bands, but no more than 50% of one band can also be in another.

Performance Format

Each band gets 20 minutes total (including setup). Setup time counts toward your slot—plan ahead!

Final set time will be provided in advance.

If fewer bands enter, time may be extended.

Example 8-band schedule:

·       7:00–7:15: Welcome

·       7:15–10:30: Band performances (with 5-min changeovers)

·       10:30–11:00: Audience voting & winner announcement

Prizes

Top prize valued at $200+

Winners determined by audience ballot voting

At least 75% of your band must be present to claim a prize

Provided Equipment

House PA system, Drum kit, Mics and stands

Bands Must Bring: Instruments and accessories (guitars, pedals, cables, etc.)
